|REACH AND ROHS COMPLIANCE|
Insulectro Compliance with REACH and RoHS Directives:
In January 2003, the European Union adopted a number of important environmental directives -- the Directives on the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS), Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), and End of Life Vehicle (ELV), as well as several related Directives and Amendments. In combination with additional Directives in the EU and other geographies, they represent an important milestone in providing a safer environment for future generations. China and other markets have followed with similar requirements.
As of June 1, 2007, the European Community adopted REACH, a new Regulation on chemicals and their safe use. It deals with the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemical substances. The aim of REACH is to improve the protection of human health and the environment through the better and earlier identification of the intrinsic properties of chemical substances. At the same time, innovative capability and competitiveness of the EU chemicals industry should be enhanced. The benefits of the REACH system will come gradually, as more and more substances are phased into REACH over the next 11 years.
Insulectro is committed to these Regulations and Directives. As a value added distributor of Printed Circuit Board Materials, Insulectro does not manufacture products or add any restricted substances to the materials that we distribute. In addition, Insulectro does not distribute electronic equipment, and does not distribute printed circuit board materials outside of the United States. Insulectro does, however, support our Customers in the Printed Circuit Board Manufacturing Industry in their efforts to comply with these Directives by making the following information freely available online.
The following are links to the most recent information available from the following legislative, industry and supplier resources:
In lieu of Insulectro or its Suppliers completing individual REACH, RoHS, WEEE, ELV or other declarations, surveys, or listings for each product and customer, "All of the Printed Circuit Board Materials that Insulectro distributes are Declared as Compliant by Default."
This means that Customers should report the Printed Circuit Board Materials that they purchase from Insulectro as being compliant unless specifically list as an Exception on the ‘REACH and RoHS Compliance Letters’ page noted above.
